City of Brotherly Love Test Drives Hydrogen Car

On Tuesday, October 24, a GM HydroGen3 will be available in Philadelphia for those who wish to test-drive a hydrogen vehicle. The University of Pennsylvania is also hosting Hjalti Pall Ingolfsson to present the lecture, “Hydrogen – Fuel of the Future?” the following day.

Mr. Ingolfsson will discuss the world’s first commercial hydrogen fueling station that opened in 2003 in Reykjavik, Iceland. He will also discuss how Iceland is leading the charge to create the world’s first hydrogen economy and one that is based many upon renewable energy.

The HydroGen3 fuel cell minivan will be available for test drive from 11am – 2pm on Tuesday at University of Pennsylvania’s Houston Hall on 3417 Spruce Street. Having Philadelphia jump on the hydrogen bandwagon will provide a powerful national symbol of this country’s willingness to liberate itself and declare its independence from the grips of foreign oil.
